CYP induction

Cytochrome P450 induction caused by a therapeutic is measured in human hepatocyte cultures as a rise in a CYP mRNA level or its enzyme activity. Such induction may increase the breakdown of many drugs metabolized by that CYP, causing clinically significant drug-drug interactions.

Cytoscient offers CYP1A2, CYP2B6 and CYP3A4 induction assays in human hepatocytes. Assays measure either the mRNA levels by RT-qPCR, and/or the enzyme activity using specific substrates.
