Cytochrome P450 inhibition caused by drugs is detected in biochemical or hepatocyte cell assays utilizing substrates specific for individual CYPs (including subtypes 1A2, 2B6, 2C8, 2C9, 2C19, 2D6, 2E1 and 3A4). Drugs found to have potent inhibition of these reactions can impair the normal breakdown of many other drugs.
Cytoscient offers either single-point or IC50 tests. Both reversible (Ki) and Time dependent (kinact/KI) CYP inhibition kinetic determinations are available.
