Cytotoxicity

Cytotoxicity of a drug can be measured by the production of death markers in cell culture. Cytotoxicity may be an off-target effect suggesting possible safety concerns. For oncology indications, cytotoxicity may be a desirable on-target effect. Various cells and markers can be tested to gain insights on specific mechanisms.

Cytoscient offers MTT, LDH and neutral red assays to measure the cytotoxicity and cell viability in several cell types, including HepG2, 293T, NIH3T3, primary  hepatocytes and others.
