Drug lipophilicity is determined by measuring the distribution coefficient (LogD) in octanol/water for neutral compounds, or partition coefficient (LogP) in octanol/water at specified pH values for ionizable compounds. Lipophilicity affects both the solubility and bioavailability of drugs.
