Reaction phenotyping

Reaction phenotyping identifies the specific enzymes in the metabolism of drug candidates, which is important to predict possible metabolism-related DDI. Drug metabolism commonly involves some combination of cytochrome P450s (CYPs), flavin-containing monooxygenases (FMOs) and UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs).

Cytoscient offers reaction phenotyping assays using recombinant CYP, UGT and FMO enzymes, or using selective inhibitors for each in hepatocyte or microsome preparations. Km values can be determined.
